This R12-7099 reel fits on the reelmowers from Toro and replaces the original with number 12-7099. Mowers with cutting reels are mainly used for precise mowing jobs on the sports and golf courses and for the public green spaces. The mowing result is very good because the mowers can mow precisely down to the millimetre.
A series of sharp blades are put on a cylinder and come into contact with the bedknife. The R12-7099 had 8 blades mounted on the cylinder. The grass is caught between the blades on the cillinder and the sweeping motion cuts the grass on the bedknife. To get a nice looking pitch, the blade has to be sharp. A dull blade tears the grass and damages it on top of that it makes the grass look unevenly cut.
