The R4005 reels fits for your Toro reelmower and replaces the original with nummer R4005-7. The reelmowers is very precise in its mowing on the golf course and sport field. This is due to the even mowing result of the reel and the ability to cut the grass exactly down to the millimetre.
A reel consist of twisted knives that are placed on a cylinder. In the case of the R4005 the reel has 5 blades on the cylinder. The gras is cut between the bedknife and the cutting reel. A requirement for this is that the knife edges on either side are very sharp. If this is not the case, the grass damages because it is torn instead of cut.
Reels R4005 worn down?
How do you see if a reel is worn down? A reel is not instantly worn out when it is dull. The blades can easily be sharpened. When the diameter of the reel is to small for the cutting unit, the mowing result is and stays bad after cutting and can no longer be correctly adjusted, only then you have a worn down reel.
