Reel - 6 blade

This RT-38-6 reel fits on the reelmowers from and replaces the original with number RT-38-8. Mowers with cutting reels are mainly used for precise mowing jobs on the sports and golf courses and for the public green spaces. The mowing result is very good because the mowers can mow precisely down to the millimetre.

A series of knives that go round a cylinder, that’s the most basic explanation one can give about a mowing reel. The RT-38-6 had 6 blades mounted on the cylinder. The gras is cut between the bedknife and the cutting reel. To get a nice looking pitch, the blade has to be sharp. A dull blade tears the grass and damages it on top of that it makes the grass look unevenly cut.

Reels RT-38-6 worn down?

When do you know if your reel is worn down? A reel is not instantly worn out when it is dull. It can at all times be sharpened. When the diameter of the reel is to small or the cutting result is not nice or the reel and bedknife can ‘t be setup correctly anymore, it is time to get a new one.
